Een glimp achter de schermen met het verhaal achter mijn werk.
Geboren in het noordoosten van Groningen, in het pittoreske Appingedam, was ik van jongs af aan al gefascineerd door tekenen. In de poeziëalbums van mijn jeugd schreef ik steevast dat ik later kunstenaar wilde worden, een droom die nooit is verdwenen. Die passie bracht me naar Zwolle, waar ik studeerde aan het Cibap, en later naar Utrecht om mijn opleiding voort te zetten aan de HKU. Tijdens mijn studie ontdekte ik dat ik kunst op mijn eigen manier wilde eren, door een verbinding te creëren tussen kunst op doek, papier en de huid.
Mijn brede interesses drijven me continu om deze disciplines met elkaar te verbinden en tot leven te brengen in mijn werk. Met mijn kunst wil ik een eerbetoon brengen aan de landen die ik heb mogen bezoeken, en aan de rijke culturen, landschappen en mensen die me hebben geïnspireerd. Mijn diepste dank gaat uit naar de geweldige mensen die ik met trots mijn klanten, vrienden, support en familie mag noemen. Jullie steun, loyaliteit en vertrouwen zijn van onschatbare waarde.
Veel van mijn werk is gebaseerd op de foto’s die ik tijdens mijn reizen heb gemaakt, waarbij ik met volledig respect de schoonheid en essentie van elk land en elke cultuur probeer vast te leggen. Ik besef dat ik soms, ondanks mijn intenties, tekort kan schieten door onwetendheid. Daarom sta ik altijd open voor feedback en correcties. Voel je vrij om contact met me op te nemen als je iets wilt delen. Samen kunnen we blijven leren, groeien en een respectvolle dialoog voortzetten.
Met trots deel ik graag deze verzameling foto’s uit mijn persoonlijke archief. Deze foto’s zijn het resultaat van mijn reizen, museum bezoeken en samenwerkingen met andere bedrijven, waarbij ik toestemming heb gekregen om ze als inspiratie in te zetten en te verwerken in het proces voor mijn tatoeage ontwerpen. Ik ben de volledige eigenaar van de auteursrechten op mijn foto’s en tatoeage ontwerpen en ik vraag je vriendelijk om deze creaties met respect te behandelen.
In de tijdlijn van mijn reizen krijg je een inkijkje in de plaatsen die ik heb bezocht en wellicht ook jouw gedeelde interesse hebben gewekt. Als je specifieke foto’s zoekt van bepaalde locaties waar je zelf bent geweest, nodig ik je van harte uit om contact met me op te nemen. Ik sta altijd open voor jouw eigen (reis)foto’s als referentie voor een unieke tatoeage.
Ik koester mijn werk en de verbinding die ik met mijn klanten heb opgebouwd. Daarom wil ik je bedanken voor je interesse en steun. Born in the northeast of Groningen, in the picturesque town of Appingedam, I have been fascinated by drawing from a young age. In the poetry albums of my childhood, I would always write that I wanted to become an artist—a dream that has never faded. That passion led me to Zwolle, where I studied at Cibap, and later to Utrecht to continue my education at HKU. During my studies, I realized that I wanted to honor art in my own way, creating a connection between art on canvas, paper, and skin.
My wide-ranging interests constantly drive me to merge these disciplines and bring them to life in my work. Through my art, I aim to pay tribute to the countries I have had the privilege of visiting, as well as the rich cultures, landscapes, and people that have inspired me. My deepest gratitude goes out to the wonderful people I proudly call my clients, friends, support, and family. Your support, loyalty, and trust are invaluable to me.
Much of my work is based on the photographs I have taken during my travels, in which I strive to capture the beauty and essence of each country and culture with the utmost respect. I recognize that, despite my best intentions, I may sometimes fall short due to a lack of knowledge. That’s why I always remain open to feedback and corrections.
